"Cosmological studies with weak lensing peak statistics"
Speaker: Prof.ssa Zuhui Fan - Peking University
Proponent: Giovanni COVONE
Abstract
Weak lensing (WL) effects are gravitational in origin, and have been recognised as a key cosmological probe. Because of the weakness of the signals, WL analyses are statistical in nature. Exploring different statistic quantities is therefore crucially important to fully extract physical information embedded in the observational data. In this presentation, I will discuss our studies on WL peak analyses, an important complement to two-point correlation statistics. I will describe our theoretical modelling for high S/N peak abundance, and its cosmological applications using data from CFHTLenS and KiDS.
