Monday February 17th, 3:30 pm, in aula Caianiello

Speaker: Manuela Vecchi (Groeningen Univ.)

Abstract

The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS-02) is a state of the art cosmic-ray detector on the International Space Station since 2011. In over fourteen years, AMS-02 has collected more than 230 billion cosmic rays up to energies of multi-TeV. The precision of the magnetic spectrometer enables us to present data to an accuracy at the percent level. In this talk, I will summarize the latest AMS-02 results, together with their interpretation. The precision of AMS-02 results revealed unexpected phenomena that challenged conventional theoretical models.
