SpeakerDr. Stefano Poletto (Rigetti Computing)

Title: "Quantum computing with superconducting qubits, an overview on the current state and future directions at Rigetti computing"

Time/Location: Monday June 20, 2022 at 14:30 in Aula Caianiello - Department of Physics - Federico II

Abstract

After a brief introduction to quantum computation and on the different ways to make a qubit, I will focus on the superconducting approach for the realization of quantum processor units (QPUs). This will be done starting from a generic overview of one of the Rigetti commercially available QPUs, to further break down its complexity by focusing on its single components and interplay between them. I will introduce the transmon qubit, how readout is performed, single- and two-qubit gates manipulation. I will conclude with an overview on our latest results on QPU performances and the Rigetti approach to scalability

The proponents: Francesco Tafuri and Giovanni Piero Pepe, within the QST Seminars organized by Procolo Lucignano, Domenico Montemurro, Davide Massarotti, Vincenzo D'Ambrosio, Filippo Cardano and Martina Esposito.
